Unrilis clocks up its 30th EP with a fantastic effort from German Kevin De Vries, complete with a stellar remix from Secret Cinema.

De Vries is a still young producer but one with an accomplished sound way beyond his years. He debuted on Drumcode’s A-Sides compilation and has had continued support from Adam Beyer, Richie Hawtin, Pan Pot etc. Across both tracks here he shows off his slick studio skills with real style.

Excellent opener ‘Infinity’ is a solid piece of uplifting techno that glides on a slick drum pattern. A shiny lead synth line has real depth and incendiary hi hats and tough claps help drive things along into outer space. Riding through various peaks and troughs, it is a truly moving cut.

The next original ‘Arcadia’ is more visceral and pumping, with a harder feel and more edgy and angst ridden synths and stabs all brooding up throughout. Some vocal yelps add a sense of urgency and the whole thing is sure to lock the main room of any club to its groove.

Remixing is Dutchman Secret Cinema, known for his Gem Records label as well as his countless essential techno classics over the last 25 years he has for many years
counted the Unrilis team amongst his fans. His version of ‘Arcadia’ is a bubbly and intense number with many knotted synth lines, bass riffs and pulsing sounds that all add up to an intense and thrilling techno ride.

This is timeless techno from one of the best labels in the game.
