Up-and-coming Irish artist Mark Greene picks up right where he left off in 2016, churning out relentless Techno from his small studio on the outskirts of Dublin. In 2016, Greene’s tracks found their way into the hands of Techno supremo Carl Cox, who consistently pushed his music on the dance floor of Space Ibiza in his final ever season of ‘Music is Revolution’. Thankfully, four of those tracks will now see the light of day this February.

The ‘Rain Dance’ EP is the Irishman’s latest offering, set for release on Orange Recordings; the Dutch Techno imprint headed up by Amsterdam-based Steve Mulder.

‘I am really glad to have Mark on board at Orange Recordings with his massive debut 4 track EP’ says Mulder, who has been consistently signing fresh talent to his label since its inception in 2014. Each of the 4 tracks on the ‘Rain Dance’ EP represent a considerable shift from Greene’s usual style. Adopting a slower, more groove-orientated approach, each track offers its own unique appeal, while still maintaining Greene’s trademark punch. Commenting on the release, Greene provided some insight into the departure from his harder side.

‘I made each of these tracks toward the end of summer 2016. Having made predominantly harder, 130 + bpm tracks to date, I wanted to really challenge myself to slow it down and introduce a bit more groove instead of relying on heavy kicks and sticking with the usual method. The end result is something I’m very happy with and to have the EP signed to Orange (Recordings) is a massive plus.’

Greene’s new-found direction has already garnered support from Carl Cox, Eric Sneo, Jonno Brien and of course Steve Mulder. The ‘Rain Dance’ EP is set for release on Orange Recordings.
