Hobo is an artist who quickly established himself within the scene, going from total musical obscurity onto touring Europe’s best clubs with Techno heavyweight Richie Hawtin in a considerably short space of time. The calibre of Hawtin’s endorsement provided Hobo the foundation to take his career forward, and the Canadian producer even had the honour of Depeche Mode co-founder, Martin Gore, hailing his 2009 ‘Symptom’ release as one of his favourite tracks.

His studio work eschews quantity to ensure quality, an ethos that is clearly conveyed in his productions and remixes which have previously found homes on the likes of Hot Creations, M-nus, Mobilee, Turbo Recordings, Diynamic, and his own Soundz imprint.

“I wrote all of these tracks on my mum’s dining room table, one summer night in Canada two or three summers ago. They were pretty much inspired by the sights and sounds from out the window. A bit of wind, some crashing waves and darkness. I rerecorded some synths a week later in Berlin and they were good to go.” – Hobo

The last two years have been surprisingly quiet for Hobo however, his ‘Peekaboo EP’, which was released on Sasha’s Last Night On Earth imprint in April, signalled his triumphant return and we are now delighted to welcome Hobo to VIVa MUSiC with another beautifully produced EP.
