The small but perfectly formed Citizens of Vice label welcomes rising star of the disco scene Andy Buchan for three killer new cuts that come with a remix from scene mainstay Pete Herbert.

A slew of essential edits from Buchan really established his sound and now he comes correct with some of his own equally compelling original material. Now UK based, it comes after time spent in Dubai editing DJ Mag Middle East, running his own events and releasing tunes on the likes of Hot Digits, Rare Wiri and Masterworks Music which often ended up in the Beatport Top 10 or on 6Music.

Vibrant opener ‘Do2Me’ is a house track with a hefty dose of nu-disco giving it the perfect sound for the summer months ahead. It’s catchy and poppy but with swirling, spacey synths and is surely one to get hands in the air. Then comes ‘Get Down’, which started life as a French-touch style tune that got flipped with a dark and broody bass melody over the top of disco-friendly percussion and another spacey synth top-line that pushes it on and on. A key change to the melody is sure to keep the ‘floor pumping.

The third and final original is the lush ‘Dubble D’ which, says the artist involved “a very conscious decision to write something different from my normal house/disco/nu-disco template with dovetailing melodies, changed-up percussion and some dreamy half-heard vocal harmonies over the top”. It leads to a fresh new track that treads the line between house and disco in real style.
