Mention the name Chicola and you’ll be sure to get a reaction from any and all considered dance music royalty in the likes of Danny Tenaglia, Dixon, Sasha, John Digweed and Hernan Cattaneo. With chart-topping releases on Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat, Guy Mantzur’s Plattenbank and close friend Guy J’s Lost & Found, he’s heralded as one of Israel’s best kept secrets.

His career in music has spanned almost two decades and with the release of his long overdue debut album on aforementioned super star Guy J’s coveted Lost & Found imprint, Chicola is ready make that big leap in his career everyone knew was coming.

“Lost & Found is my home and Guy J thought it was time for me to do an album. It felt like the right time and it’s such a great honor that I couldn’t pass up on an opportunity like that. Lost & Found is one of the finest labels around and I feel lucky to be able to release my music there,” says Chicola.

The impending release of the album was preceded by the ‘Yoav’ EP released earlier in October. The EP garnered widespread support from Musumeci, Jeremy Olander, Edu Imbernoon, Eelke Kleijn, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren and the entire Lost & Found crew Guy J, Guy Manztur, Khen and more. On Beatport, the eponymously named lead track made number 1 on the Top 100 Progressive chart.

Leading up to the Friday 19th’s release of the full length album, Chicola is turning up the heat by premiering two additional records off the LP with Electronic Groove and Dancing Astronaut; ‘Could Heaven Be’ and Backstabber.

‘Could Heaven Be’ is indicative of the overarching theme of the album project. It bears Chicola’s trademark MO; sinister drum work and serene, cinematic atmospheres coupled with warm, sophisticated leads. With a linear build that makes the track feel like a long breakdown, it culminates almost 7 minutes in. That tastefully built suspense and subsequent releases make you want to hear it on repeat over and over again.

Showcasing his breadth in the studio, Backstabber takes on a larger peak time role. Gearing towards enthusiast of mysterious grooves and soaring lead melodies, it’s sure to leave anyone in its way moving their body and proves Chicola can do it all.

Release Date: November 17th, 2017
