Dance music titan DJ T. returns to his spiritual home, Get Physical, with another vital two tracker.
DJ T. has had a busy year with many highlights. It’s taken him to standout releases on labels like Play It Say It as well as to clubs and festivals around the world. Always busy in the booth and studio plotting lines between the past and the present, between disco, techno and house, he was last on this label at the end of 2017 and now with two more tunes that once again show his class.
Things kick off with the excellent ‘Istanbul’, a hip-swinging, disco-tinged house track driven by a funk fuelled bassline. Cosmic keys twinkle above, and alien synths skew about the mix to bring energy and real dynamism to a floor filling groove that has genuine charm in its bones.
Second standout track ‘Sufi’s Dance’ is a slow-motion sizzler that twists and turns and takes you on a wild adventure. The loose afro drums are underpinned by a percolating bassline that never gives up and make it the sort of tantalising, playful tune that is destined to become a real club anthem this winter.
These are two terrific tracks that ooze character and a real understanding of dance floor dynamics.
