Metro Dance Records is a House and Techno record label set up by the people behind Metro Dance Club, which based in Alicante, has a global reputation for being one of Spain’s leading venues for electronic music.

The new Metro Dance Records release is from Point Sole, an artist who many will recognise from his releases on Suara and Sincopat, but his music can also be found on Constant Circles, Eklektisch, Roush and UNER’s label Solar Distance.

Point Sole tracks have been played by the likes of Loco Dice, Paco Osuna along with Ida Engberg amongst many others. Based in Barcelona, he is one of Spain’s most talented artists with a big future ahead of him.

Proving the solo remix on this three track release is Norman Weber, who to most needs little introduction as one half of Luna City Express. They have been a seminal outfit with top selling releases on labels such as Matthias Tanzmann’s Moon Harbour and Ralph Lawson’s 20/20 Vision.

Norman Weber outside of Luna City Express has solo tracks and remixes on labels ranging from Cr2 Records to Lapsus Music, and his remix on this EP is everything you would expect from someone of his proven musical pedigree.

First on the release is the original mix of ‘Space Odissey’ that along with a hard hitting kick drum, has rising pads, clap rhythms and a chugging bassline. Vast and epic, the track’s title reflects its sound, which comes to a dramatic crescendo with the introduction of the warped female vocal sample. Packed with sci-fi vibes, this stunning cut of intergalactic Techno has a melodic sound perfect for a club environment.

Track two is Norman Weber‘s remix of ‘Space Odissey’ which is brought to life with the delicate chords of a Fender Rhodes and an arpeggiated bassline. With a subtle disco influence, this stunning rework has all of the originals melodic techno elements but with a dustily individual twist. Finished with the drama of synth bursts and textured background ambience, this dancefloor focused track has definite soundscape elements.

Last up is Don’t Touch The Hole that starts with a raw and aggressive bassline in order to give this a high-octane energy. Taking its title from the soulful tones of the eerie vocal, the pitched tom drums also add to the basslines acid undertones. Finished with snare rolls, this track is brimming with personality and will no doubt become something of a secret weapon for many a DJ.

Release Date: January 11th, 2018.
