Kuukou head Simina Grigoriu steps up to the plate for her label’s 9th release with ‘Makibishi’, a no-nonsense three tracker including one original banger and two trippy remixes.

Main composition ‘Makibishi’ unveils a marauding lead, with a mesmerizing bassline and choppy subdued vocals slashing their way into dark techno realm. Decayed grunts and distorted kicks summon a dungeon-like atmosphere, while an exotic vocal instils an air of strange familiarity.

Melancholic pads and reverbed arpeggiators are the focal points of Wille zum Wahnsinn’s take on ‘Makibishi’. The duo, comprising of Max Manie and Simon Panosch, prove a penchant for winding melodies and crafting intense momentums.

Multi-faceted talent Prudo rings in his rework, with a near-labyrinthian arrangement of the original. Zig zagging synths dole out a solid dose of playfulness, while the vocals take a secondary stance, making way for the intricate melodics.

Along with the initial ‘Makibishi’ incursion, the EP offers up highly versatile reconstructions with alternating moods to fit any floor vibe, so long as it’s inherently and undoubtedly a tech infused affair.
