“Do what you want, be a freak, who cares if nobody likes it, as long as you do, that’s all that matters”.

This is an approach Into Orbit label head Tom Flynn has taken on all of his sonic explorations, from conjuring up slices of melodic electronica to dance floor ready cuts, such as the ‘Du Know’ EP.

Side A consists of two tracks poles apart, but actually have more in common than first meets the eye. ‘Cosmos’ is a sultry raw groove that could be heard in your local coffee house or downtown at a club.

‘Du Know’ on the other hand shows Flynn’s forward thinking for pushing boundaries and experimentation. What links both tracks is the overwhelming sense of raw artistic vibe.

“After I did the “Du Know” track, I kept listening to it in my car driving home from the studio and thought it sounded like something you would hear in a computer game, I thought that was cool”.

Side B sees Flynn go in all guns blazing with Freak, then rounding out the EP with ‘Phase One’.

“The phase one cut was a total experiment. It’s totally out of time and has so many mistakes. I needed like six arms to record it all at once but somehow I managed it!”

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Tom goes slightly left of centre on this EP. It’s club ready, yet ever so eccentric, as always.

This is clearly a record that shows Tom does what he wants, he’s not looking to please other people or to get on the ‘hottest’ label, it’s about experimenting and pleasing yourself.
