Majesty’s solo career has truly progressed since Kerri Chandler first signed ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ to his Madtech imprint in 2014, going on to release original productions and remixes with esteemed labels including Resonance Records, Simma Black, Nervous Records, and Kumasi Music.
Following the hugely popular release of his ‘Pump Action EP’ on VIVa LIMITED in December last year which gained support from the likes of Groove Armada, Riva Starr, and DJ Sneak to name a few, we are very excited to welcome back London based producer, Majesty, with the release of his ‘Acid Workout EP’.
Max Chapman also features, turning in his interpretation of title track ‘Acid Workout’. Stripping the original mix of it’s old-skool aesthetic, Max twists the tune into a dark percussive affair with a chunky low-end counterpointing the relentless vocal hook.
Two more original tracks complete the package; ‘Coffee Shop’ is a heavily groove based affair throughout the main body of the track with stripped back sections featuring skittering hi-hats and swirling pads, culminating in a hypnotic early doors groover. ‘Less Is More’ picks the energy back up setting the pace with frantic and evolving percussion lines, off kilter chord stabs, and dreamy vocal snippets which are used sparingly throughout.
