The ever excellent Mother Recordings serves up more club gold, this time from Martin Waslewski. His Closer release features two tight tacks that prove he has a lush sense of house groove.

Waslewski is a German who grew up on hip hop and now having turned to house finds himself at home under the roof of labels such as Hommage, Monaberry and Heulsuse. All these playgrounds offer him a deserved platform where he never fails to come up with the goods, as is the case again here.

Up first here is “Closer“, six minutes of deep, feel good house music with romantic vocals and colourful chords. The beats are lazy and well swung and this one is perfect for summer parties and terraces this year. On the flip, “Come to Me”  is stripped back and more driving, with a tech edge to the beats. There is more great melody though, and some smeared synths that add a sense of scale and weight.
