February 2017 will mark the launch of Parisian imprint Origine Rec with Saull & Unknyo’s ‘Les Bains’, a split four track EP featuring a remix from Terence Terry.

Origine’s manifesto states the brand is out to remove the boundaries between all creative forms or music, fashion and art and is setting out via the launch of Origine Clo, a new fashion line, and Origine Rec the record label to create a fusion of creativity influenced by the underground scene.

Here we see the brand kick start its vinyl only Origine Rec imprint with a four-track release split between the brand’s founder Saull and his childhood friend Unknyo.

Up first is the collaborative contribution and title track ‘Les Bains’ from Saull & Unknyo which sets the tone of raw, understated house music via vacillating ethereal synths, rounded sub bass swells and a weighty rhythmic swing.

Saull’s solo cut ‘Ju Lya’ follows and sees the Parisian deliver a similarly dreamy affair with snaking airy pads, chugging bass and stripped back percussion before Unknyo’s ‘Riviera’ ups the energy levels with a smooth, dubbed out aesthetic.

Fellow Parisian Terence Terry then rounds out the package with his take on ‘Riviera’ reworking the original into a percussive fuelled low-slung workout.
