Lex Luca continues to demonstrate his innate production prowess with the double A-sided ‘Call Me / High Fashion’: two groove-led house cuts that are surely destined to stick around all summer.

Lex Luca’s In Tune label is only four releases old, but has already turned heads in all the right quarters due to its consistently strong and varied releases: no small feat when – to date – it has releases music solely from Luca himself.

‘Call Me’ is a perfect rolling house record, with its tough low-end thump steadily built on with looped chords, clipped vocals and rising strings. It’s a simple yet devastatingly effective arrangement, with a huge, euphoric break that will suit main rooms and festivals down to the ground over the coming months.

On the flip, ‘High Fashion’ takes a far darker path, showing just how versatile Lex Luca is in the studio. There’s an air of sinister menace here, created by squelching bass, screeching synths and warped vocals: the kind of record that will send you down a house-induced rabbit hole.
