Local Dialect are proud to bring you Varosha, a sublime melodic techno track and their debut release on Click Records.
Local Dialect began when Sam Perricone met Reed Tan at a music producer’s club in college. Discovering a shared passion for good music and social gatherings, they started DJ-ing at dorm parties they threw with their friends, which soon became the talk of campus. Once graduated, they found themselves dissatisfied with their corporate careers and longing for energy and freedom. The two began collaborating on original music, seeking to recapture the magic of those crazy nights surrounded by friends and good vibes, hoping that this might one day allow them to walk a different path.
In 2017 they quit their day jobs and moved in together in Queens, New York, where they set up a studio in their basement and furiously workshopped their craft. Progress was slow at first, but they began accumulating prizes on the MetaPop competition site with remixes for the likes of Einmusik and Reinier Zonneveld. This caught the attention of labels such as Euphonic Visions, Somatic Records, and Key+Needle, and led to their first original releases. A remix for Nora En Pure landed them on the bill alongside her, Kidnap, and Moonwalk at Avant Gardner in 2018 and catapulted them into the New York circuit. They’ve since performed at The Good Room, Polygon, 101Brooklyn, and Anden’s Sound Room Live series, with many more shows on the horizon.
Local Dialect pride themselves on telling a unique story in each of their productions. Surrounded by a collection of analog synths and pedals, they weave together sounds of the past and the present. Their music is marked by masterful sound design, soaring, emotional melodies, and is always backed by a powerful groove.
2019 started off strong for Local Dialect. Their track “Magna” on Somatic’s Underground Frequencies Vol. 2 broke the top 10 of the Beatport Progressive House Hype chart, and two stellar remixes for Lane 8 and Andre Sobota have been making waves amongst their fans. Shortly after, they released their single “Poseidon” on Gorgon City’s REALM imprint. Keep an eye on Local Dialect, 2019 is sure to be their breakout year.
